Google is Amazing!

I remember when there wasn’t any internet. If I wanted to learn something on my own, I had to get on a bus to go to the library.  Not much fun! If you’re around my age, you can relate, right?

Fast forward to 2020, we now have access to the fastest and most efficient search engine ever! Just by typing a few search terms, we can see what everyone is looking for in an instant.

This is great because you can now find the right audience who’s interested in what you’re offering.  And by using the right keywords people are searching for, you’ll do great with your overall traffic and conversions.

Understanding Google Instant

When searching for keywords you’ll want to start with Google. When typing a search term, Google will display similar keywords in a list below the search box. These searches are the most popular keywords people are looking for.

Google Instant Search Feature

As you can see Google displays the search terms people are searching for.  You can also apply the alphabet soup technique to get much more search results I’ll show you here.

Notice when I type the letter b to the search term, you’ll see more potential for keywords.  I typed the letter b and now you see all the terms that way.“how to find best keywords”, etc. You can do this for any letter in the alphabet.

Each letter you type to the search term will reveal keywords that match the letter. Try it for yourself and see what you come up with.

Here’s another video that explains exactly what low hanging fruit is, and how to apply these low competition keywords to your content for better ranking with Google.

The important thing to remember when you’ve found your ideal keyword is:

  • The keyword must make grammatical sense
  • search traffic should be greater than 40 searches per month
  • QSR (number of competing websites) should be under 100

If you can accomplish that for your keywords, your post will have a greater chance of ranking on the first page of Google.

Where to place the keyword in Your Content for best results

The best place to add your keyword is in your title, and the first paragraph. You only need to add the keyword in those places.

Google doesn’t like it when you put too much emphasis on keywords. So,  be sure that you’ve added those keywords, then just write naturally throughout your post.

Important to note is, that as your post gets indexed in Google, there will naturally be other keywords in your post that you’ll get ranked for.
